[ In the early morning, Korra will find an oddity on the beachhouse's porch. A tray overflowing with melting ice-blocks, each one glittering mightily as the sunlight strikes it. Each one containing a colorful flower. The pale pink of a peach bloom, its spiny tendrils extending from the ice. A morning-glory, the red petals like splashes of blood. Purple sprigs of pansies. Pale brambles and white stars of jasmine, mixed in with delicately-veined blue wolfsbane. ]
[ A large pink aster is knotted to the tray itself, its petals unfurled back around a darker pink ringing a yellow core. It gives off a rich scent of wet soil as if still in the ground. ]
[ There is no note. No sign of what the whole arrangement means. The sender is, himself, unsure what the flowers signify. But if he did, he'd tell you (with a blade held at his throat): Brambles for regrets. Pansies because I think of you. A morning glory for an unforeseen attachment, and wolfsbane for misanthropy. The jasmine is for sentiment, and the peach-blooms for being you. ]
[ The aster means: 'Please be patient. I'll think about it.' ]
Ah! No! I don't have anything like.... No. [She blushes bright red. She never even would dream someone would send her flowers. The sneezes, though, get concern from her.]
[Korra, of course, completely misinterprets the blush, and a wicked grin spreads across her face. She waves off Tohru's concern in favor of a far more interesting conversation topic.]
No, no!! [She flails.] It's nothing like that, at all. [Poor thing is blushing even worse. Part of it was just bashfulness, in the beginning, but now she's all out red-faced.]
[Korra, the pretty one? She knows she's attractive, but she's never thought of herself as "pretty." And certainly not the hottest thing on the dating market. Korra's more or less recovered from being dumped, but she's still 99.99999999% sure that she has no secret admirers hiding in the wings.]
Please. The only person who'd send me flowers is Chekov, and he would've left a note.
[She frowns, and taps her chin as she reconsiders the flowers.]
[The friend who is still stuck on:] Korra was seeing someone? Oh! I hope the marriage curse didn't confuse them! Some people actually thought that was real.
[THEN she realizes they're back on maybe it's for Tohru, so she waves her hands.] Nonono. That's not possible. It could still be that the person you were seeing had a change of heart? Maybe they were moved by the romantic feel of the month?
That's okay! I could go ask. [Tohru offered, not realizing she, in fact, worked for said vampire. She didn't know where Mister Valentine lived, after all. All the same, she wasn't afraid to approach.]
Dated to early morning on the 20th

action;
Pretty.
[Korra picks up the arrangement and carries it into the kitchen. Putting it on the table, she pokes around for a note, but nada, nothing.]
Hey Tohru, don't tell me you've got a secret boyfriend.
[Either that or the Chief...
She sneezes. Is somebody thinking about her? Another sneeze. Nope. Shoot, she better not be coming down with anything.]
action;
Are you all right? Do you need some orange juice?
Re: action;
You totally do! Come on, spill it.
action;
It's nothing like that, at all. [Poor thing is blushing even worse. Part of it was just bashfulness, in the beginning, but now she's all out red-faced.]
action;
A secret admirer, then? A young man who longs to sweep you off your feet, if only you would let him?
action;
Besides, Korra is the pretty one. If they were to send flowers to anyone, it would be you!
action;
Please. The only person who'd send me flowers is Chekov, and he would've left a note.
[She frowns, and taps her chin as she reconsiders the flowers.]
Maybe they're for the Chief...?
action;
[But for her? No. They could never be for Tohru. She has no admirers, secret or otherwise.]
Unless Jinora already has an admirer. That could be possible, too. Or a besotted girl sent Miles some.
action;
She goes to poke her head up the steps.]
Hey Chief!
action;
Yes?
action;
action;
action;
No. Not anymore.
[It only stings a little.]
Besides, he wasn't exactly a flowers kind of guy.
action;
[ Lin is becoming amused by this. She comes down the stairs. ]
action;
[SIGNIFICANT LOOK at her friend]

action;
I'd sooner believe they were meant for that creepy vampire dude and someone left them here by mistake.
[A small, petty part of her thinks He'd have to have a heart in the first place.]
Re: action;
action;
[He's not as bad as Mr. Pervert Person, but he's still pretty high up on Korra's "People to Completely Avoid" list.]
action;
Perhaps we should put them in the freezer, and see if anyone asks after them.
Re: action;
action;
It's probably Chekov. I bet he just forgot to leave a card.
[She nods at Lin -- good idea, Chief -- and takes the tray to the freezer. But first she takes the non-frozen flower off the tray and sets it aside.
Sneeze.]
Maybe I'll take some orange juice after all.
action;
[A Korra's sneeze, Tohru looks worried, then nods her head and rushes off to get a glass of orange juice, without even a word.]
action;
[ Lin, there really isn't any need to get all motherly at them. She stands in the corner, out of the way, and stretches her arms. ]
